Just spent the weekend here with my son's Beaver's group. Yes, the camp is dated but it is in pretty decent shape considering the amount of people that pass through here. I'd suggest they empty the porta-poties on a weekly basis so they are fresh for the next group coming through. Prior to coming here I wanted to know what the sleeping arrangements were so i could be prepared. I couldn't find any pictures, so here are the bunks. The mattresses are surprisingly comfortable and we had great sleeps!

My son has spent a few overnight camping trips at Camp McLean and has loved every one of them. It's a nice quiet place with tall trees, well separated from the rest of Langley, but still close and easy to get to. Unlike at some other camps in the Lower Mainland, like the one at Whonnock Lake, at Camp McLean it is not necessary to make detailed logistical planning for necessities like groceries, since so many services are close by. There are several camp sites, shelters and cabin sets here, giving a variety of different camping experiences, and making it suitable for a variety of different age groups. The parking lot looks ample, but actually isn't big enough for the number of people who can stay within the camp - be warned. The camp is conveniently across the street from the Little Campbell regional park and therefore has many walking and hiking options on both sides of the street; however, there is no crosswalk and the traffic can make crossing treacherous, coming down hill toward the camp from both directions as it does. Overall we appreciate this camp and are glad that our Scouts unit books it for overnight excursions.
