I am a full-time rv'er and live at Riverside RV. It's not a fancy paved Campground, but it is well-managed, well priced, and right on one of the cleanest rivers on Vancouver Island. Not sure about the other post that said it was kind of creepy? That post is correct that there is not a lot to do with in this Campground. Other than the fact that you can fish, swim, hike, and oh yeah of course there is swimming in the beautiful River.

Zero zero stars. But wouldn’t let me post without one. Big time crime area. People live in the run down cabins and no reguard for privacy, as they walk right though your spot. Very run down. Go elseware people.

It was ok. I prefer more privacy and cleaner sites. I was a little sketched out the first night to go to the bathroom alone because of the area it's in but I felt safe after a little bit. If you want to stay on the riverfront then it works but if you want more privacy then this isn't the place for you.

Bit creepy place and really nothing to do. The owner John is friendly and helpful. About 180 people permanently live here in trailers he mentioned. Most of those trailers being far from in a shiny state. The river itself is really nothing special. There's just a whole lot of sand with very little grass. There's also a lot of junk around. WiFi only works when standing near to the office. No signal at the campsites. There's completely nothing to do for kids. There's one toilet for men and two free hot showers. Fairly clean. 40$ is really too much for this location and state of the campground. Asked John about the theft happening that the previous reviewer posted about. He said it surprised him as he hadn't had any issues for the past three years but he took it seriously. He seemed genuine in his response. Out of our three weeks RV trip through Canada this campground really stuck out as being the odd one. Try to find another place. There are quite a few campgrounds along the road in this area which are impossible to find online so consider just driving up to one.
