Beautiful place for some light hiking and it stays open quite late too! The buildings and garden are well-maintained, and the information displays are really interesting. The visitor center and introductory video are basically the same as American Camp, so if you've seen that, no need to watch it again, but it's well worth visiting English Camp. We got to see a nesting osprey too!

The only place in the US where a US govt official ceremonially raises the British flag daily. This beautiful and informative site is a great place to stroll through the Pig Wars history, learn about the border conflict between US and CA. Many if the buildings are still intact. The rangers where traditional British uniforms and give walking tours and there are groomed trails and signage for self-tours. There is even a telescope set up to view nesting ospreys. The little onsite shop sells vintage style toys and crafts for the kiddos and a good selection of books on local history and nature. The dinghy dock is well-maintained and seal watching is good. Great place for a picnic, and to stretch your legs and walk the dog. Restrooms on site.

This place was really cool and I learned a little bit of history here. Definitely worth the stop.

Really fun. Lots to do. We were lucky enough to see transient orcas on our visit.

Nice historic place. I and my girlfriend attended a “living history demonstration” on June 30th 2018. There were wonderful people who did the demonstration. However, a man who was acting as a cooper (makes barrels) for this demonstration got a little too contemporary: He was talking about the practice of women (laundresses) having to marry a soldier in order to be able to work at the camp. In his opinion, that was smart; made sense and was a good answer to the “#metoo problem”— yeah right?. A cooper from more than a century ago should not know about #meeto. That’s a little too much out of the character that he was playing. As a contemporary human being he’s entitled to his views but we (unsuspecting tourists) would be better off not hearing about them. This is the only reason I am giving this experience 4 stars and not 5 stars. My girlfriend zoned out and did not remember hearing the #meeto part. The actors were all likely volunteering and I understand not to expect them to be necessarily entertaining. But at least we shouldn’t have to put up with the “cooper’s” bullshittism in the name of volunteerism.
