What a way to start an RV holiday! No where we have stayed on this trip since our first 2 nights at Rathtrevor have come close in comparison. Absolutely beautiful beach and shaded walking trails. The staff member who met us at the gate at 11.20pm as she was finishing her shift was delightful. She was locking up but took the time & listened to our story of missing the ferry, getting lost, driving in terrential rain in an 28' RV for the first time etc. We had a reservation so she let us into the park and gave us clear directions to the site. We were so lucky to run into her locking the gate or we'd have spent the night on the hwy somewhere still feeling lost. The park was BEAUTIFULLY maintained. Accessible (wheelchair/stroller friendly) and the campsites were very private with a lot of growth in between each site. Free & clean showers, great playground for kids & lovely pebbly beach. I would love to go back to Rathtrevor.

The beach here is amazing. The tide seems to go out forever and when it is in you can walk out a long distance in knee deep water. A perfect beach for kids as there is lots to see in the tide pools and the sand is always perfect for building sand castles. We stayed in the newer section of campsites (Site #180) which is not great - while they are spacious they are all right next to each other with only a low fence separating them. We felt like we were camping with two other families because we were so close to them. We walked around the entire park and the campsites inside the main gate are much better as they offer some privacy from other campers.

Amazing beach that you can walk on forever! This campground is great for family's. With a cool playground. Shower and bathroom facilities are the best I have seen at a campground in a while. Clean drinking water!

The campground is large and the sites are large and forested, with lots of space between sites. Many ore very private. The campground is next to the beach area, a rocky, more exposed beach on the north side of the campground, and the more well-known huge sand beach to the south. The campground also has a big playground area with a dirt bike trail around the perimeter. Always busy during the summer. Don't expect to get a site unless you book 4 months ahead.

Not great weather but everything else was good. The showers are in need of a little TLC by RLC since they last renovated the. It's a great quiet family camping spot.
