Good campground though staff isn't really into their visitors. They dont really come to say hi or whatever and you have to get to them to pay. Come after 6pm and leave before 9pm and you can't even pay ...

Perfect jumping off point for exploring the town. It's about a fifteen minute walk to most of the exciting things we wanted to see. Not at all private but when we stayed here it was pretty quiet. We have a small camper van and it was great to be able to have power hook-ups available. There are fewer large site's available here so being smaller was a bonus. The noon check out time is a huge bonus as it saved us from having to pay for parking downtown.

Gets the job done, but it's seen a lot of hard use. The washroom/shower facilities need some loving - it's just the shear volume of people using a facility built many years ago. Sites are extremely tight - whisper or your neighbour will hear you. If you need a place to park a small RV or tent for the night Nelson City Campground will meet that need. Anything longer and I think something a bit more spacious place would be recommended. Front Staff were friendly and helpful.
