Awesome spot white sand fluorescent warm water snorkeling and kayaking. A bit rowdy on a long weekend but nice once all the parties leave

Seriously unique spot in BC! White powdery sand beaches and warm ocean water. The bay connects two islands and has beach along both ends of the strip. Just gorgeous!

We were fortunate enough to visit Buccaneer bay by boat this weekend for the first time in 20 years. This spectacular beach located in a marine park deserves more care and conservation then it is being given. There was know one collecting fees for camping, know one regulated camp fires or open drinking, and the 2 pit toilets appeared to have had no maintenance and little cleaning since Id been there last. The door and steps were broken and they were not very clean. It was a big shock after visiting other marine parks that were very well cared for and managed. Perhaps it wouldnt matter much, if the park was only being used by a handful of campers, arriving by kayak or boat. Instead a local company is dropping off visitors in a landing craft on an hourly basis. We saw almost 50 people dropped off to camp or visit for the day, in less than 24 hours. What we observed in other parks, was that fees for being collected, park employees were regulating the use of campfires and ample pit toilets were spotless and ready to use, leaving the parks spotless. I hope that this park will receive better care and maintenance in the future, and the the services will fit better with the number of users, so we can all enjoy this park for years to come.
