Came down from Alaska on motorcycles and we had reserved this place as the ferry doesn't get into Prince Rupert until around 1am. By the time we got through customs it was probably nearer 2am and this campground had a gate they shut at like 10pm but since we were on bikes we just idled around it to our spot. I think another couple or two that were on motorcycles did the same though I know at least one of them didn't reserve the spot and seeing that they got up and left really early I'm not even sure if they paid.. Over all decent place but being one of the only spots outside of PR it was annoying that they shut gates when the ferry doesn't get in until late, iirc the exit road wasn't gated so autos could go in the exit after hours.

Excellent Provincial campground - just a bit east of Prince Rupert. Very helpful camp host.

Clean campground with good sites, but with limited things to do. Nearby lake is inaccessible and other hiking oportunities require driving. There is regular noise from the adjacent TransCanada highway. It has clean pit toilets, water to pump, and is open late for those arriving on the Prince Rupert ferry, 15 km away. You csn reserve sites online in advance of your arrival, but it never fully filled up. We stayed 4 nights and used our site for regional explorations in our vehicle. Nearby Diana Lake is a good distination with a sandy beach if you want to swim. This campsite is acceptable, but fails to capture the magic of the region.
