First time camping. Loved this place. Great hosts. Nice and quite- managed to nab a great spot right near the water. Washrooms everywhere and well maintained. We'll be back!

Best secret recreation camping spot on the island. No power, no water, cleanest pit toilets. If you want to relax this is the place.

We highly recommend this place. Let's clear one thing up. Sadly, someone posted a negative review telling other that they 'selectively logged' sections.... You'd just have to take ONE informed look around to see that it was a nasty storm this spring that took out a number of trees. NOT logged out and made into a bare area! Nixon Creek is incredible. The best part is how well looked after it is! Even after having a terrible storm come through, they were ON IT right away to get things cleaned up and ready to go for an amazing camping season! It's unlike other campsites in that way that go unmaintained or where the staff/hosts are lazy... that is not the case here. Great little beaches, many fantastic campsites. We will 100% be back! :) We love it here.

Edit: my original review is below. Earlier this spring we came while it was closed and saw what appeared to be an active logging site, as the sign said. As others have mentioned this was actually a massive blow down they were clearing, with 58 trucks out. Most of the large trees are gone, but the beach area and host remain awesome. Original Review: The quieter one of the forestry site bunch on Cowichan Lake. Awesome host and great private sites, total of 50, with everything from walk in beachfront to forested hideaways.
