Good fishing campground

Jan 8, 2018
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We stopped here for the night while fishing and would recommend it to anyone. Everything we needed and more.

Fantastic location but rvs are in a parking lot like setting with no privacy at all. Point in windy so not suitable for tent trailers to be along there even though its much quieter than main camp parking, seasonal residents are very noisy. Toilet blocks are filthy, possibly because there are too many people using them. Gravel road in is not really gravel but more like bare rock and very uneven and bumpy to drive along. Would go back if lots are larger, toilets and washrooms are better maintained and road is graded

Nice staff, but campsite is a bit remote (there is a wrong sign in Google Maps, showing the location is at the edge of Port Alberni, but you have to travel another 12 kms or so, using a road meant for the heavy lorries. Facilities are OK (showers, full or partial hook-up, dumpstation). Camping field with narrow places without fences or other separation. OK for exploring the west of Vancouver Island. Update march 2018: Google has updated the location, but be aware, there is also a Chin Creek Rd in Port Alberni, you should really look for the China Creek Campground . . .

Great place to camp with a trailer, especially if you keen on fishing.
