Poor signage. Misinformed staff. Me and my family were coming back back from a camping in Asessippi and decided to stop at Spruce Woods to see the place and plan our next camping. We went to the beach area (I guess). Parked our car and went to a place where we thought was the office to buy the day use pass, but was an Ice cream store. Then we went to a gift store (the only place we saw with a worker to ask questions), we asked where we could buy a day use pass. She said, probably at the office, but she didn't know where the office was. Then I saw a guy picking up the garbage with a truck. I asked him where I could buy the day use pass. He said "you have to go to the office", and he explained to me how to get there (so far away from where the beach is). It probably took us about 20 minutes just to find out where the office is. When we got the car to go to the office to finally buy the day use pass, there was a ticket for parking without a day use pass!!!!!!!!!!! Really!!!!! We went to the office and initially one of the ladies said "I don't have nothing to do within that, you have to pay." Another lady said we can call the people responsible for that and see what they can do. And she called them. (30 more minutes with thirty kids waiting) The guy came and basically said, "you have to pay the ticket". He said, close to the parking where we parked our car there is a parking meter to pay for the day use. None of the park workers I asked told me that. I didn't see any signal or the actual parking meter. And honestly, I am not going back to this place to find it out.

Good for a small hike, 2 hrs ~ 8 KM's. Carry plenty of water, nothing to drink close by. Trail is covered with sand so dress accordingly.

Fun & unique experience! My cousin and I were travelling across Canada and for one of our night-time-rest-stops we stumbled upon this park. Once we found out they had Yurts (and then looked what a Yurt was) we HAD to try it out and were very pleasantly surprised! The Yurt was spacious, more than enough room for a family or for 3-5 friends to stay comfortably. Please note: There is absolutely NO cell phone service. But, there is FREE WOOD for your campfire! Bathrooms/showers were clean, and had lots of toilet paper. Plenty of access to drinking water as well. Last, but not least, I lost my (sentimentally valuable) necklace and the park contacted us and made sure it got back to me. I am definitely going to come back to this park and stay in one of their cozy Yurts again as soon as I can! Highly recommend. Love this park, can't wait to explore it some more.

Decently groomed trails. There are some nice lookout points giving good views of the area. The dunes offer a good challenge, with steep slopes and loose sand. Made it to the Oasis, the land seems almost alien compared to the rest of Manitoba.
