I won't rate this officially, but just comment that IF we had wanted to stay at the west end of Winnipeg (would have been a smart move had we wanted to see Assiniboine Park and the Zoo and other tourist sites), we would have stayed here despite the poor reviews which--with my own eyes--I could see were overly-dramatic. The store was clean, as were the washrooms. The manager/attendant was VERY polite and helpful. We peeked at the campsites and saw nothing that would have deterred us from staying there. The campstore was well stocked, there were lots of trees, there was a lovely little restaurant.

KOA Winnipeg West can easily be called the campground of excessive noise 24 hrs daily from the adjacent Trans-Canada Hwy traffic. It’s overwhelming and forget about counting sheep as they’ve all moved to quieter pastures. Cannot even give it 3 out of 5 stairs due to all the mud and gumbo like soil that sticks to your shoes and expensive paint on your vehicles not to mention tracking it into your rig. Wave at the friendly staff as you drive past as there are plenty of campgrounds in this area that offer the traveler peace and comfort after a long day driving between the white lines.

Winnipeg West KOA is still under construction, right by the highway. Facilities are dirty, in the back of a gas station that also acts as the registration office. Campsites are small and spotted with tufts of coarse grass. Everything looks haphazardly set up. We only stayed one night, which was more than enough. We were woken up by loud construction noises at 8 in the morning. Thanks. On the positive side—because it's always healthy to be positive, right?—the staff were friendly and the place has wifi. A minimal amount of mosquitos too, which is a plus in my book. We've been to much better KOA campgrounds, so this poor review isn't about KOA in general, just this campground. I recommend you only stop here under dire circumstances. Safe travels!

I wouldn’t recommend this campground. There are so many other nearby campgrounds to choose from. While my kids enjoyed the playground the rest of the campground isn’t up to KOA standards in my opinion. The tenting site is hard gravel with very little grass or privacy. The only public water is at the trailer dump station and it isn’t clear if the showers are pay or free. The highway noise is unbearable, semis will keep you awake with jake brakes all night.

A typical Koa campground located directly off the highway. The traffic noise is constant. The sites are small with just a thin patch of grass between them. The off leash area is a good size if you want to exercise your dog. The staff at the front desk were very nice and accommodating. The internet speed is abysmal. A good place to stop for one night to rest and then move on.
