I love coming here for making new friends, seeing old, exploring new activities and adventures. Going home a happier healthy person.

I went to this camp back in the summer time 2008. Overall it was a terrible experience going here. However one thing ruined my week at this camp, along with the next half a year after I left. I think it was in the trust building activity area where they had this big climbing net at least 10 or more feet tall. The activity we were told to do was pretty simple. They said to go up the net, cross over at the top to the other side, then climb down the net as fast as possible. I was the first one to give it a try. I made it to the top okay, but when I tried to go over I got stuck, and while trying to free myself I lost my grip on the net. So I fell down to the tree root and mud covered ground (there was no padding or any safety gear at all). Naturally as people tend to do as human instinct when falling I extended my left arm to break my fall. I hit the ground, my left wrist taking on most of the force of my fall. Immediately I was rushed to the first aid area. The nurses there heard what happened and deduced that I had bruised my wrist while landing. They said to use some ice packs until the swelling dies out. Well hours later they had to cut me off because I was "using all of their ice packs" the nurse said. Since everyone at the camp thought I was fine I still had to do all of the activities that everyone else was doing. I had to go horse back riding, golfing, and tubing (just to name a few). Well I did all of this with a broken wrist. I believed the nurse's diagnosis of my arm being bruised and after asking for help from the nurse every day, only to be told I was fine. I just toughed it out. Golfing with a broken wrist has to be one of the most painful things I have ever done. And there was no getting out of any of these activities either since the nurse said I was okay. Anyway since I believed I was fine, I decided not to tell my parents about my wrist when I got back. I trusted the staff at camp knutson so much that I lived with a broken wrist for about a month until my parents noticed. I had to get the bone re-broken because it had healed the wrong way as well. And for those of you who are fortunate enough to have never experienced a bone being broken intentionally so it can heal right, it's not pleasant. Then I was in full left arm casts for about three months after that. Overall my experience here was terrible. I'm surprised that my parents didn't sue the place for any compensation for medical bills and personal suffering. Plus I'm pretty sure the staff knew I broke my arm. I got special treatment that felt like a cover up ever since I got hurt. Overall I'm glad my alopecia cleared up shortly after all of that. Because that meant I never had to go back to camp knutson ever again. And even if it didn't clear up, I still would not have gone back.
