I love this place. South cliffs remind me of pictures of the east coast. Staff is friendly and everything is clean and well maintained. Nice relaxing spot.

I WOULD give it a 4 (can’t give 4.5 apparently) because the nature is great, really quite beautiful and if you’re only visiting. BUT I’m only giving it a 2 (2.5 if I could give half stars) because if you’re there long term expect to see the unpleasant side of the staff if you don’t manage to follow ALL of their conditions. And I’m not just talking about being rowdy and disruptive to your neighbours. My favourite is throwing the wrong garbage in the garbages and yes there is a wrong type of garbage apparently (You’re fine if you don’t get caught but I was and ended up having to take a small portable camping bbq home with me). There are FAR FAR FAR too many ways to be reprimanded (and it is just that, an unconstructive scolding) by management for a place you go to in order to escape the stresses of your daily life. You can even be threatened with eviction if you don’t get them to like you enough. It has happened to the friends we share the site with. There was no investigation, just the threat. They should’ve volunteered more I guess. Management there are more like your employers than your recreational facilitators. And the type of bosses everybody talks about behind their backs. I’ve heard that current management is on its way out though so maybe try in a year or two. Again though, the grounds sure are nice to look at!

This has to be the best Municipality run village and campground in the province. Houses and cottages on their own plots with some of them for seasonal rent. Services for the lakeside community are varied if a little sparse. Personal transport is a must and golf carts and ATVs are popular for local travel. Go there for the beaches and the beautiful lake views. Bring your children and your floating craft, with a picnic and a will to enjoy a real gem of a beach location.

Stayed two nights in August and had a great time. I had a campsite with water and electrical. The campsite was large enough for my big tent and a kitchen tent so I didn't feel cramped. The bathrooms were nice and the staff were friendly the couple of times I talked to them. The beach is quite rocky, so keep that in mind if your planning on spending a lot of time lying in the beach. Bring a blanket. The water is clean and clear. You can walk out quite a ways before it gets really deep which is nice for smaller kids playing in the water. The cliffs that Steep Rock is known for is about a 10 minute drive away.

Nice campgrounds, lots of space at my site for tents. There is a small store with some basic foods, very nice and friendly staff. I thought the site was expensive for tent camping... and you had to pay extra for firewood. Beach is quite rocky, and the water stays shallow for a long ways away from shore. The water is fairly clean. Overall an enjoyable stay.
