Igor, Karen and the whole staff go out of their way to make this place a fun, safe, relaxing piece of Maine wilderness for their guests. People come for the hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and just plain relaxing. Accessible either by float plane or by logging roads, the camp is remote, but does not feel like "roughing it". Cabins have gas lights, wood stoves, daily cleaning service, and hot & cold running water. Electricity is provided by a generator in the main cabin, so you can charge your electronics, but there is no WiFi nor mobile phone service. They have a sat phone for emergencies, but the camp is really a place to unplug and get away from the demands and distractions of modern life. Food is plentiful, wholesome, and definitely meat-oriented. The chef will accommodate special diets, but call ahead, because there is no grocery store around the corner to get you special ingredients! My friends and I have been coming here for years, and each year the camp host Igor helps us prepare a new adventure. We have hiked through wilderness to nearby Reed Pond, visited old trains in the wilderness (left over from logging operations over 100 years ago), and taken advantage of the many maintained walking trails on the property and across the lake. Igor helps us identify safe, fun activities that our whole group can enjoy. He clearly loves the place and the lifestyle and is eager to share his joy with his guests. Fishing guides and hunting guides are available for hire. There is a target shooting range on the property for those interested. Bradford Camps is a unique, special part of the world, offering people the chance to really get away from it all, while still living in comfort. Highly recommended!

We have been to Bradford Camps on family vacations several times. The staff is outstanding; the cabins are immaculately clean (and have running water!); the food is good home-cooking and plentiful; the fishing is good. What more could you ask for? Maybe great hiking and kayaking. boating and birding. This is a perfect place to get away from it all.
