My name is Neil Preston. I’ve been a part of the Hawkeye community for 14 years. I started out as a camper then became a counselor and have now transitioned into the head counselor position. The Hawkeye community holds a special place in my heart. From learning social skills, to sports and even learning how to write a resume, Hawkeye gives your child the opportunity to grow as an individual. With learning about yourself, and becoming more independent at a sleep away camp you also get to know others and create life long bonds. Hawkeye is a place where it doesn’t matter your background, race or religion- you can come to this wonderful community and be blessed by the power of Diversity Leadership and Community. I am forever grateful for Jess and Garrett for their love and passion for their work and just to see them so driven into making the world a better place. They inspire me and I am excited for another awesome summer at Hawkeye in which I can help create amazing memories for the campers. I deeply encourage you to allow your child to embark on the incredible adventure that is Hawkeye.

Camp Hawkeye is a terrific camp with great directors and a focus on diversity, inclusion and exploration. Garrett and Jess work tirelessly to ensure Hawkeye serves its community and is open to all people, from all backgrounds and economic situations. As a small to medium sized camp, Hawkeye is able to focus on the individual within a group, help each child develop skills and give them the attention they need. In today’s world, summer camps experiences like Camp Hawkeye are important for kids and parents.

Met Jesse, one of the owners, at a camp forum in Boston. Delightful woman with a vision for community, the theme of this particular summer camp. My son loved his stay, brief as it was, but it left a positive impression. He wants to go back and see his new friends again.

Great Camp, it makes extraordinary efforts to get a diverse population. It has no standing ratio of staff to campers. And his leadership at the top that is extremely experienced
