We love staying in campgrounds run by Parks Canada. Facilities are well maintained, clean, and in good condition. Staff are always friendly and give great customer service. You have to book your site at the visitor center and keep your permit on your car. We camp with tents and had no problem finding the perfect site. Bathrooms were never far and dish washing stations were handy. We would've stayed another night if we didn't have to move on with our trip.

We just loved the facilities at the Parks Canada campgrounds on Cape Breton Island. With dreary weather upon arrival we opted for the oTENTiks and they were amazing! They save one each day thatâ€™s first come first serve- the rest book up quickly! oTENTiks are heated with more than enough room for sleeping the whole family comfortably.

This was my first visit to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and the Cheticamp camp ground. The campground is very easy to navigate and all of the essential amenities for basic camping are readily available. Most of the camp sites are relatively open on grass with a few trees. I wasn't sure I'd like this but in the end I found it just fine. The washrooms are very clean and include shower stalls. There are both was stand for cleaning dishes and sheltered kitchen/dining huts if the weather forces you under cover. The park offers an excellent varied program and there are many amazing trails of all skill levels to chose from. I highly recommend a visit or a long stay.
