We love to camp at the provincial park and spend most of our days playing in the ocean. Nova Scotia water doesn't get really warm but our 5-year-old did not mind spending an hour playing in the water. For the 2018 season, there is no canteen on site. This is a real bummer since we loved staying on site to get ice cream. There are some great places to get good eats and cold treats nearby. I still give Rissers a 5/5 for friendly people and beautiful coastline.

Love the long boardwalk. The views are amazing. The campground is nice to stay at although it books up quickly. There used to be a canteen down along the beach area but it's not open this year as they couldn't find staff. There is also a small corner store/liquor store just 5 minutes away from the park. Cresent beach is also just 5 minutes away. At low tide people drive their vehicles down on the beach. The park has a comfort station but it is up across the road, not down on the beach side. Playground for kids is also across the road. The beach in the campground has a wheelchair accessible wooden ramp.

Beautiful sandy beach with shallow waters. Boardwalk thru the marsh for some wildlife viewing. Very clean bathroom/ change facility. Not as busy as we expected. Plenty of parking.

Great hot showers. Surf is good. Canteen is closed so bring your own snacks.

Beautiful beach and not too congested. The canteen wasn't open yet. Maybe open in July?
