Lucky Loon Family Campground

My wife and I recently sold our home and purchased a new RV as our summer home. We spent months sifting through the hundreds of campsites online, emailing and calling back and forth with dozens, and visiting as many as possible for face to face meetings with owners and to view the quality of the parks for ourselves. We met with Jeff and his lovely partner Cora for an initial look at Lucky Loon and found them both to be welcoming and genuine individuals with a vision and a passion for their newly acquired campground. After a subsequent visit and settling on an available site, we made the decision to join the family at Lucky Loon. We moved in at the beginning of September, and we couldn't be happier. We've already paid our deposit for the next season. Jeff, Cora, and the entire staff at Lucky Loon have been nothing but professional, friendly, and extremely efficient while executing their various duties around the park. There have already been enormous improvements to the park overall with the clean-up of standing deadwood, re-positioning of trailers for better sightlines to the water, website improvements, and super easy policies and procedures for getting things done. There is a nice mix of retired, seasonal campers like us, and families with kids as well. We have yet to encounter any issues whatsoever, and both types of campers are cared for equally with all needs being met. The wife and I are not huge social butterflies, but there seems to be a good number of events for those that enjoy that sort of thing. The grounds are always immaculate, and the washrooms are the cleanest I've encountered. Pump-outs are prompt and reliable, and everyone we've encountered here seems genuinely happy with everything at Lucky Loon, including the owners. I've read some of the reviews from angry and disgruntled campers and can only say that they seem to come from the same ilk we encountered when checking out other campgrounds prior to settling here. I'd say we're all well rid of bad rubbish. If you're looking for a safe, attractive, friendly, and well-run campground for you or your family, my wife and I HIGHLY recommend Jeff and Cora and Lucky Loon Family Campground.

I am compelled to express my profound disappointment regarding our recent experience at the Lucky Loon. Despite our best efforts to maintain a harmonious relationship with the management, we were unexpectedly asked to vacate the park at the end of the 2023 season. The circumstances surrounding this decision were both unexpected and, in my view, unjust. Our family, seasonal occupants for two years, took pride in our spot. Our trailer, though perhaps seen as a bit outdated, was in excellent condition. We spent our first summer modernizing our space, ensuring it was safe for our children, and aesthetically pleasing. We received numerous compliments on our spot from both land and lake. We had intended to remain in the park for at least another five years, while our children were still young enough to enjoy it. However, in my opinion, it seems our presence did not align with the park management’s vision. This experience has caused considerable distress to my family, particularly my children. The place I had cherished and eagerly anticipated visiting on countless occasions has been marred. Once a tranquil and delightful place where friends became akin to an extended family, the sense of community and warmth that I once cherished is no longer present since the new owner took over. It’s disheartening to see such a change in a place that held so many fond memories for us. With regret, I must conclude that the park does not uphold a family-friendly environment it claims to have. There I cannot recommend the Lucky Loon

If I could give a Zero as a star value this place would be it. After over a decade of camping at this so called "family" park, I have left and not because I wanted but rather because we ( my family and I) were given no other choice. After 3 different owners in the 13 years we were campers, the Newest (JW) is in no other words a dictator and should not own a campground! He enforces his lifestyle and religious views with a berating nature. If you don't envelope and absorb his ideology you are made an outcast at his whimsy with lies, and half truths. If your looking for a place where you are in bed at 8pm with no alcohol or MaryJane and you don't plan on having a fire or any fun. This is the perfect place for you. However if you are like any normal human whether you partake or not, you just want to enjoy camping and not be told when you need to go to bed, then I would suggest finding and spending your money elsewhere. With rates rocketing and the cutting of all amenities ( except his precious card games) this is no place for a child to be none the less an adult. The Owner ( who can't be named) will steal your money and leave you high and dry literally!!! Have watched it happen numerous times last summer. This is how he is able to change the park without putting any of the finances into the business and upset his backers even more ( which he did in August last year) Responses from the owner are always the same when he doesn't recognize a name who has made a post or review that isn't to his liking! However after camping there for many, many years and running the adult activities for approximately 7 years, you get to know a lot of people. I pride myself on my connections and to be honest in this list of Reviews - Most of the positive ones are from people who have never even stepped foot in the camp. Pathetic that you have to combat the 47 trailers that left in the fall with "FAKE" people. As for the Negative Reviews; They are real and the encounters are real. No matter how right you think you were at any point Owner you were not and I have the voice recordings to prove just how two faced you are. That's right all our encounters were recorded. After months of thinking of how I was going to write this and what to say, I feel that this is the best way to end it for now. Perspective campers: AVOID this camp, now that the mass exodus has occurred (47 trailers) there really is not much to do there no matter what he ( The Owner) says, since I was the one organizing all adult activities and leagues. The Owner is only available by appointment, it's more like an encampment than a place to relax and enjoy. PS: Not the last you'll hear from me, although I was blocked from the public Facebook page for calling out the Owners girlfriend out for using an alias on the site to spy and act as a camper...oh yeah be ware of this and his fake attitude that will lure you in to his web of cult persuasions, just remember Don't Drink the Kool-Aid! We have left the lucky loon and I feel I can breath again. We were happy for a long time there because we have met a lot of wonderful people. So we decided to put 2024 fees of 500.00 down. On the long weekend we had just finished our dinner when a fellow camper said Something was happening. No more detail was given. We heard the golf carts coming so we went to the end of the deck to watch. There was children on the golf carts and the drivers were driving slowly. Then we saw a large 5 ton truck racing behind the carts. This was the most shocking thing I have ever seen. The owner can say anything but what he did that night was wrong on all accounts. When we left I knew we would find a new place. A safe place for my grandchildren and us. I would not recommend ANY one going there. This is the truth of what took place. Joan

I don't really know how to write a review but here goes nothing. I have camped here for about 8yrs and have love it very much. Made many friends some have moved on to new adventures and some have stayed. The campground is very well maintained. Sites are spacious. I personally do recommend visit the park and see for yourself what it has to offer. Use your own judgment not that of bad or good reviews of past or present campers. Only you know what is best for your family. But if you pick the Loon you will make some life long friends.
