Charleston Lake Provincial Park is great for all ages. This place is very scenic and can turn anyone into have a fond relationship with nature. The park now has a newly improved trailer dump and water fill up station that is accessible for the larger trailers to use. The trails are outstanding in the park and staff are very friendly and open to any questions. The maintenance team here really sets the bar superior for other parks to follow. I highly recommend a visit if you want to wander off the path for a day or a week or however long you wish.

The good: Amazing trails and water. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The bad: Poison ivy everywhere! On the trails and the campsites, ours had some around the electrical outlets. Even though I was really careful I still got a poison ivy rash. They could be more dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed to swim at the boat dock like most parks and dogs aren't allowed anywhere near the main beach even far from the sand or water. Part of our family hung out at the main beach most of the day but the ones with dogs had to take turns watching the dogs back at camp. It would be nice if dogs were allowed on leash at the grassy area near the woods in the beach area so at least the family could be together. The dog beach is OK but there is only one and it is far from the other campsites.

What a stunning location! The lake is gorgeous, the beaches are quite nice, and the water is warm. There is plenty to see, and there are onsite canoe, kayak, and paddle board rentals. The camp sites that are somewhat private, spacious, and have a good selection of electric/non-electric, as well as shaded/unshaded. There's a Discovery Center in the park as well, with fun events for the kids.

This place is very crowded and campsites a very close to one another. The park is well managed and staff is helpful, it's for a quiet camping it might be good for you if its for a group camping i don't recommend this place. you can't move the dead branches which means that you have to buy the firewood if you plan on having a campfire. The rangers do rounds every now and then which can be good or bad depends on you. the trails are okay not dangerous and not difficult. All in all it's not a bad spot, mosquitoe population is not too big but there are way too many raccoons.

Nice park. Small and intimate. We travel with family and get multiple sites - the sites are sparse enough that we don't feel like you are sharing but close enough to carry a propane tank between sites (not that I was given a choice :) also has a small park for younger kids with newer equipment. Also lots of wildlife to be found.
