My friends got a site at this location and invited me to come up for the day. I went to check in at the office and ask what I need to do as my friends had a site and see my options. The young man there was very nice and told me to do the day pass. .. I paid for the pass. I got to the site and my friends said that they are packing up to leave as they were just informed of a fire ban and that's how they were cooking their meals so decided to leave.. I helped them pack up the site.. they were offered a refund as they were leaving early.. I went into the office and while my friend was getting a refund he asked about me getting a refund. She asked how long and said we cant refund day passes.. they clearly saw I was with people that had a site and were leaving and could have provided an acception it was not like I just went up for the full day and went swimming and ect then inquiring about a refund. I will not be going to that location again. It's sad as I recommended this place to them and not far from home. I gave one star as the one staff was very nice and friendly.

Spent the Long weekend camping. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, rarely cleaned and full of dead moths every morning covering the floors. We always had to wait for the bathrooms as there were line ups as there were only 2 bathroom for the 5 sections near us. The showers were nasty and the water was temperature controlled to hot water, which SUCKS when its 40 degrees out and you want something refreshing. On our third night the kids were all in bed and we were chatting around the campfire when the park warden (a 20 something kid!) came to give us a warning about noise levels. The campers in the site next to us came to see us afterwards and told us he had also spoken with them about noise and then waited between the sites to see if he could hear us! Both sites thought the other was asleep there was so little noise!! The camp store ran out of ice by Saturday afternoon due to the hot water, should have been better prepared when you know its gonna be packed and 40 degrees out.

This place is a great place for family and friends to get together, have fun and get closer to them. Lot of area , camping sites, and playgrounds for the kids to get out of your hair if need be. I love it there and so does my family.

Just outside of Ottawa and easy to get to. This local campground has some great facilities and a solid beach, for the Rideau River of course. The only downside is how close it is to a busy road, so when in your tent at night, you can really hear the cars. Other than that, we always have a great time.

The previous review perfectly describes our experience at this park - A group of people laughing, singing and chatting around a campfire who were given a $180 noise violation ticket. As the young park ranger (probably the same one as the review above) was issuing us the ticket, she fully admitted that there were no complaints from other campers and that the ticket was purely discretionary. The next day another ranger came to our site and told us that we had 45 minutes to pack up all of our stuff because we were being evicted. He then waited around for us while we packed and proceeded to escort us out. An absolutely ridiculous display of abuse of power by a bunch of power hungry rent-a-cops. In closing, do yourself a favor and find another park to goto.
