My son and I attended the Webelos Overnight from 6/30 through 7/01 at Camp Miakonda. Before attending, I reached out to Alan Lepard via email on March 4th with questions; his name is listed on the website and handout. I never received a response from Alan. I decided to still sign-up and attend with my son. All in all, the campout had some highs but very low points. This was the first time we had been to Miakonda, so I felt completely lost most of the time there. Announcements over the loud speaker were not enough to identify a clear schedule. We needed an itinerary. The Trading Post was not stocked with supplies for a Webelos Scout which was unfortunate as I brought money to buy my Scout the items he needed for Webelos. Ultimately, I feel there was some value for my Scout at the campout, but had I known of the disorganization, we would not have participated. In the future, we would choose not to participate in a Camp Miakonda program unless we were reassured there were major changes. edit: I sent an email to the contact info listed and they got right back to me and rectified the issues that we had by making a few adjustments. Outstanding staff!

We stayed at the fort for camping with our scouts. It was family camp, so some families stayed in the bunks and others used hammocks or tents outside. There is water at the site and bathrooms are close by. The camp ground has a gaga pit and a human foosball pit. Lots of trails for hiking and even a trading post to shop.

My son both have had great experiences camping here with their troops! Great facility! Great memories made here and my youngest is still enjoying camp outs. He just stayed in the lodge with his troop and it had a refrigerator and stove they could cook on.

Camp Miakonda is a classic scout camp, 100 years old, this year. It has BMX bikes, hiking trails, Archery, bb gun range, a large pool. All of this is overseen by the Boy Scouts of America. It's a very nice camp.
