Not a very friendly place to camp anymore. Would not recommend this place to anyone! We have been camping here for about 5 yrs. and never had a problem until this year...the new management/ staff is about as RUDE as they come. The sites we had reserved had to be changed due to the fact that they booked a person on a site we had reserved. They were willing to move us which was appreciated but after that point it went down hill. I was on the dock at dusk the first night with my kids and they came down to tell me how it was unsafe and to get off the docks. I was standing with them and was very capable of watching them but decided to leave the docks anyway as to not seem uncooperative. The following night we had friends/family who drove over an hour to come visit and were not permitted to enter the facility. We were told we should have checked them in prior to them arriving. Probably something they should have mentioned at check-in but did not. When the new manager came down to explain this to us he said if you don't like our rules you can leave too. Within 5 minutes of they had one of there many golf cart patrol come down and lecture our kids about riding bikes after dark. Keep in mind they had a band playing with countless bikes and golf carts parked at the band...I called this morning because they double charged my account and as soon as I started explaining to her how I thought somethings should have been handled differently she said she had to get back to me and basically didn't want to speak to me any longer other than say we have new management and campers have to get use to the new rules/enforcement. If you wish to go camping and enjoy yourself I would reconsider this location. It is beautiful but not worth the aggravation. The group we camp with makes about 5-10 trips per year and never has issues with campgrounds and we can certainly find a new place to go.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds we've ever visited! The people were friendly the rates were reasonable the view is unmatched. Everything was well taken care of Immaculate bathrooms, and the history of the island is worth asking about. We can't wait to go back again

For the last one hundred or so years all the families of Henderson would walk or drive their vehicles up to the cut to watch the sunset. Apparently there's a new sheriff in town. If the campground wants to have relationships with the locals, this is no way to treat the local people by kicking them off the rocks while watching a sunset. It is our friends, and family who stay out there and have in the past. If your goal is to make enemies, this is a fine way to do it. We don't complain about all the campers going right by your door steps every day, maybe it's time we should, go back to town meeting, enforce laws and regulations that are on the books. If you want problems this is a great way to acquire them. Really management, find something better to do than creating a police state. Friends and family, we have sent plenty in the last few years to the campground under the former manager, but not any more.

Our new favorite KOA! After camping over the 4th of July/week, we simply cannot understand how someone could review the Association Island KOA with less than 5 stars. We found the campground in great condition, well run and with friendly and helpful staff - which is significant on such a hot and busy check in day before the holiday. Everyone was fantastic (shout out to Lucy and Glynda in the office!). I saw some negative-ish reviews, and realized they were simply complaints by people that expect KOA staff to control the weather, wind or bugs, and people who didn't read the rules before making reservations. This is hands down a great KOA. We can't wait to go back - there are so many things to do on the KOA island, and also nearby boat rides and attractions to do and see.

Beautiful setting on Lake Ontario. Sites are roomy and clean. Staff was very friendly and willing to help when needed. Fishing is plentiful, pool did not appear ready for use although the temps were in the mid 70's during the day. Parts of the island are exposed to a constant wind which helps keep the mayfly population away, but that's the price you pay for beautiful sunsets. BTW - no cable TV and when I tried the WiFi there was no internet service.
