I have a severely physically disabled daughter, she uses a wheelchair for all mobility. YMCA along with the Ottawa Children's Treatment Center ( CHEO now) offer a joint program where extra supports are brought in to the Bonnenfant center for kids like my daughter so they can experience a full time outdoor camp. They do everything in a rustic setting with no indoor time, swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, shelter building, rope course, etc etc. For 5 years running this camp is the highlight of my daughters summer. The staff are organized with strict pick up procedures etc etc, nothing but good things to say for YMCA Bonnenfant.

The outdoor guides worked really hard at keeping our youth engaged (ages 5-7), and it really showed at the end of the day. The kids were so tired, but learned a lot about nature, climbing and fire building.

Bonnenfant had a wide range of facilities to suit camps and camps of all types, from heated cabins and full catering to self-sufficient tent camping in the woods. Canoeing, high ropes, low ropes, and other challenges are also available.
