Amazing Time!

We were driving from BC to Ontario and needed a place to stay for the night. We were the only ones there and the owner even started a fire for us. This was by far the best night of our 5 day journey. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back :)

Amazing experience for our families

I grew up going to Villa Maria. I hadn’t been there in years. Father Peter has done an amazing job with the campground. The facilities are immaculate and we felt so welcome. The campgrounds provided us with very special memories of our First Annual Family & Friend camp day for our school of dance. We can’t wait to go back!

We stayed here overnight on our trip to Toronto. We camped in our tent, however there’s plenty of space for campers. We had a wonderful experience! Top notch!! It was quiet and private. The bathroom has running water and a shower!! The host offered us food and started a fire for us. This place is also donation based, so you can give what is affordable for you. Also, if you are looking for a place that has minimal geese, this is definitely the spot for you!

We spent a night at Villa Maria Camp on our way east. The camp is situated on a peaceful lake south of Sudbury. What a wonderful stop! This is not your standard campground. As soon as you arrive you feel part of a community. There is no set fee. Payment is donation. Father Peter was finishing up the mowing when we arrived. He told us we had been upgraded to a cabin and did not have to set up out tent in the threatening weather. In between mowing and planting the garden, he built a large bonfire for campers to visit around. We warmed bodies and regenerated our spirits around the bonfire sharing stories. We plan to stop in again on our way back!!

We recently had our family reunion at Villa Maria and the experience was beyond wonderful. Father Peter has the campground in such great shape and worked with us to customize some aspects to ensure our reunion was a success, which it was. We will be having all our future reunions at Villa Maria!

I camped with my 3 teenage nieces for 5 nights. They were taking sailing lessons at the Sudbury Yacht Club and we needed a convenient place to stay not to far from Ramsey Lake. We totally felt at home right away. Peter was so welcoming and the ground was quiet, safe, sunny, grassy and level. It was an excellent place to camp and swim too. Peter had a roaring fire every night with plenty of seating (also nice because we did not have to bring wood and start our own fire). I gathered blueberries right on the edge of the campgrounds and had blueberry pancakes in the morning. One more thing was that because we were so close to Sudbury I was able to drop the girls at the mall, the movies, dinner etc after their lessons and then be back camping. It was excellent. We would definitely stay again and are telling many people too. Thank you Peter!

We stayed at Villa Maria Camp July 7/19 for a night while driving cross-country. Having 2 kids under 4, we couldn’t have found a more perfect spot for them to have the room to run free in a clean area after a long drive. We had power to a 30amp post. No water/sewer hookup but the scenery made up for this. There is a shower/bathroom stalls. Father Peter is very welcoming and an amazing host. We had the chance to get a tour of the campground. We felt like we were staying with family and not just another campground. The grounds are very well kept and Father Peter even has a garden onsite!! There’s no geese poop either which was amazing. This is truly unlike any other campground we’ve been to. It’s not overcrowded at all, which makes it a gem of a campground. We hope it stays this way. We do hope to come back thru again and maybe plan a longer stay. Definitely recommend this campground.
