What a great park! The park is extensive, well forested and set along the eastern shore of Lake Huron. The campsites are attractive, large, private, and with many trees and bushes between the sites. I was in the "Dunes" area which is close to the beach. This park is one of the most popular in Ontario and it's difficult to get a weekend site without reserving ahead. I enjoyed the quiet, peaceful environment and was impressed by the cleanliness as well as by the friendly, helpful staff. I highly recommend it!

This is one of my favourite places! It's a fairly large park and covers a lot of different terrain. The beaches (of which there are both very accessible beaches and more remote, private beaches) are probably the biggest draw, there are lots of things to do. There are daily guided walks and kids programs. And along the river that flows through the park, you can rent canoes, paddle boats and bike water bikes. I really can't say enough about The Pinery. It is a gorgeous place!

Was here on Wednesday. Was there in the morning with my mom, sister and dog for canoeing. My mom and I had taken our dog canoeing last year in September and she was good with it so we decided to do it again. We had to buy a day pass ($17) and the price to rent canoe was $15 for half hour. Canoeing is lots of fun and your dog is allowed in the canoe with you. They have life jackets for humans to wear while canoeing but they don’t for dogs. Highly recommend that you buy one for your dog before going. Some basic knowledge of canoeing is recommended because the park staff don’t tell you anything about how to paddle etc. They just hold the canoe steady so you can get in. Nice water flowers, saw couple of turkey vultures while we were canoeing. We were going to go to the beach after lunch but decided we liked the private beach at the cottage we were renting. I thought we should go hiking and get ice cream at park. So, that’s what we did. We were going to go on the Nippissing or the Carolina trail because they looked the best in the guide book. Instead, we did The savanna trail because it started near the ice cream stand and we didn’t want to have to park again. I wouldn’t even call this a hiking trail. It’s essentially just a glorified bike path. Sure it has nice things too look at and I got some nice photos but it is incredibly boring for hiking. Some signs about the plants and different animals to keep your eyes out for would be nice like on the other trails also, some benches to sit on to take a break from hiking are non existent on this trail. Also, there was no garbage cans on the tail anywhere. People won’t throw away garbage or dog poop if they cannot find a garbage can!!!!!!!!

Large Provincial Park in Granf Bend. The park has campgrounds spread over different wooded areas. Clean washrooms and showers, an amphitheatre, visitors centre, trails, bird watching, camp store, kayak and bike rentals make this a very attractive Provincial Park and one of the bigger ones we've camped at. The sunsets here are EXCELLENT! and should not be missed. The camp store is well stocked and open till 10 pm during summers. The beach has no lifeguards but is safe. It is approached by way of a boardwalk. The trails in the park are well maintained. The ice cream shop, located besides the bike rentals is very good value for money. The staff are friendly at the gates and check-in is quick.

Had an amazing time! I wish I could post pictures, but I was living more in the moment and decided to let my phone die instead. Sounds archaic, but it was actually really nice not to feel reliant on technology. We were at Riverside at 577. It is a relatively more private section, while not on any main road, but close to a bathroom / comfort station. The lot was excellent, and provided partial shade to set up our camp. It's about a 10 min drive to grand bend, and tonnes of things to do! I wish we could have spent a week there because there were so many different activity options like canoeing, going to the beach, spending time at the dunes, hiking, relaxing at the campsite, walks for days, and well-kept comfort stations. I had a lovely weekend and would 100% visit again if I have the chance! The only thing I wish they had was a faster way to get in the park that doesn't involve waiting on new campers. Once you have your permit, it kind of sucks to go through a line that you've already been through a few times.
