I would not recommend camping at Duttona Family Campground - changes in the past 2 years with new ownership has been heart wrenching - The utter disrespect for long term campers was so disheartening to watch and experience - Campers who were there for 30, 40 + years were evicted or left the park because their happy camper spot was not happy anymore. Do not get caught laughing after 10 pm while sitting around the fire – too loud and noisy. On some lots the sewage is seeping up into the grass – campers (with children) had to wear rubber boots because they were walking in feces. Some had issues getting water to their trailer, 3 hoses hooked together and spanned over 3 lots and now they have water – told by owners that their only obligation was to make sure the spigot was onsite. Hydro is very outdated – advertise 30-amp service, please check the box before you plug in. No amenities except a pool, old swings, and old monkey bars at the park. Not a "Family" campground.

Very bad experience. Stayed for a long weekend last summer and still thinking about how horrible the experience was to this day. We booked the appropriate site as per the length of our camper and were assigned a site upon check in that could barely accommodate our truck and had to move which was a lengthy process. Once we finally got to our site which we were told would have sewer, when we tried to hook up to it as just a tank in the ground that was already completely full. It seemed like most of the seasonal campers were upset with the management and shared many of their disappointing stories with us. We are not hard to please people but it just seemed like one thing after the other and when we did address any of our issues with the owners the woman specifically was quite argumentative.

Leave the city noise and bright lights behind you. Off the beating path Duttona Family Campgrounds offers a peaceful and tranquil experience. I loved my morning coffee being serenaded by nature every morning and star gazing at night and listening to natures sounds. The scenic path to the water front was enjoyable and so worth the hike, the view was amazing and beautiful. I would like to thank our greeting committee Teresa for assisting us when we arrived and Pauline for the history of the park. We look forward to returning next year

My husband and I have been seasonal campers here for almost 20 years. It wasn't a trailer park, it had become a community, a family. That is until the new owners took over. We're paying for a site for a month that we can't even use. What was once a wonderful place to come to relax and enjoy nature, has now become like a concentration camp. We used to be so excited for the season to start and hated to see it end. This year they dropped a bombshell on us. They raised the lot fees $1000, and told us we had to bring in a newer trailer or we couldn't camp there anymore. We were devastated. We are a retired couple, and could barely save up for the previous lot fees. So, we had to give up camping, and give up our site and give up doing something the we really enjoyed doing. They also are not what they advertise. Washrooms aren't open, laundromat was closed, were told we could only have a minimum of things to decorate our lots, and the sewer system is barrels buried into the ground, that drain into the surrounding area. About the reviews, if u check the dates on the reviews, they're all when the previous owners owned it, not Bruce and Becky Taylor. I would not recommend this park to anyone, it's really going down hill. Sherri Grant

If you are looking for a place to unwind, relax and have a fun filled season or even a weekend I WOULD NOT recommend Duttona “Family” Campground. Duttona “Family Campground, Coyne Road, Wallacetown Ontario – the name does not reflect the park. The word “Family” is not a true picture of what this park stands for. I, personally, camped at this park as a teenager and returned 10 years ago to a lot that was in the family for more then 40 + years. The first 8 years were amazing, the camaraderie in this park was overwhelming, we were a small community that took care of each other. Each weekend was full of excitement when we entered the park, we were going to spend time with family and friends. The moral changed in the last 2 years – some would say that COVID was part of the problem and yes to some degree I’m sure it was BUT from my experience COVID was just a crutch that was used. Whether we were in a pandemic or not the changes that have occurred in the last 2 years have NOTHING to do with COVID. The lack of respect to the campers, the plain rudeness to the campers and the lack of compassion to the elderly long-term campers was heart wrenching. I understand that running this campground is a business, as such the NEW business owners are not there to make friends BUT is it too much to ask that they, the NEW business owners, at least be friendly, after all the campers are the bread and butter of the business. Numerous changes have taken place in the last 2 years, here are a few: Public washrooms/showers closed and are still closed. Entrance is gated with key cards BUT a camper cannot let in a service vehicle (ie: police or ambulance) for any type of an emergency. Suggested to get rain barrels and utilize that water to keep your lot looking clean. The laundry facility is being converted to a Snack Shack. The emergency phone for the pool is in the SHOPPE (ie: the Office) approximately 100ft away. The pool was closed on the long weekend in August for a personal event. They fired the Social Committee because they wanted control of the events. Some of the seasonal lots do not have any sewer hook-ups. You are restricted as to how you decorate your lot. Do not get caught laughing after 10 pm while sitting around the fire – too loud and noisy. No amenities except a pool, old swings, and old monkey bars at the park. (Not up to CSA standards) Campers who were there for 30, 40 + years were evicted or left the park because their happy camper spot was not happy anymore. The utter disrespect for long term campers was so disheartening to watch and experience. I truly believe that they wanted the long-term campers to leave, they made it very difficult for any of us to enjoy our time there.
