Wife and I stayed here for a wedding that was on the premises the weekend before 4th of July. Upon initial look, it was quaint and like any other campground, and that is where it started going down hill. We go to our "cabin", which is more like a World War II Army barracks that have been neglected for 20 years (those who are military will understand). All of the buildings were falling apart and unkept. Our tiny 10x10 room was one of the filthiest places I've ever been in. There was mold everywhere, sand all over the floor, sand and rocks in the bed, the ceiling fan was so dirty that when turned on it looked like it was snowing, the box fan they provided looked like a lint trap that hadn't been cleaned in a couple years and it had some residue that appeared to be mucus all over it, the electric kept going out due to a circuit breaker popping non-stop anytime the vanity lights were on, and half of the light bulbs were blown. Even though the entire campground was booked for this wedding, nothing was open on site. The swim area was about 20x20, but there was only a lifeguard for 2 hours. But, the view was nice and the building the reception was in was decent.

An outstanding camping experience on the shores of Lake Erie for couples, families, and even larger groups. But wait there's more... with newer venues for weddings and other formal gatherings, Camp Pioneer offers true versatility. Zip lining, frisbee golf, beaches, tennis, shuffle board...the list goes on. You won't be disappointed.

Great place and amazing staff. It was an incredible experience and Pioneer will always have a special place in my heart. They were supportive to our entire company when we stayed there while working on a feature film in Buffalo.

It is the most wonderful place on earth. The executive director and staff are so caring and warm hearted. You can even picnic and enjoy the beach. Or even stay for a week or weekend.
