Beautiful and well taken care of camp ground.

This is one of your best bets to get a campsite if you're "winging it". I also refer to this as the best spot to launch a day trip to the BWCA, or hike to the border. This means you self-issue a permit. Still...you should be prepared to camp (map/compass/tent) on any day paddle or hike in this remote area. The campground is standard primitive USFS sites, and has lots of sites. Upon our visit on 8/13/16 the campground had no drinking water. Nearby Golden Eagle Lodge is an outfitter, campground with electric, and the concessionaire for payment, water & wood.

We always have a great time there. We go up every year. But unfortunately the last 3 years we have not been able to get up there however this year we plan on going up at the end of July for about 1 or 2 weeks if all goes well

Phenomenal campground, especially if you enjoy having privacy on your campsite.
