The waterfalls and the river in Cascade River State Park really are breathtakingly beautiful. However, I would NOT recommend camping here. We could not get our tent stakes in the ground because our campsite was straight gravel. It had no privacy and we felt as though our campsite was simply an extension of the gravel road. We ended up sleeping in our car it was so bad. Hiking was great camping was not. Don’t waste your money. At least they refunded us for our second night. That was very kind.

Beautiful hiking opportunity with little effort. Fantastic views of the river and all falls and rapids. Some steps but take your time and enjoy the views. Be careful with kids like many of the hikes around the north shore. Steep drops so watch the little ones. Nice bathrooms and showers in the campground. Definitely a great day stop or for camping.

Fantastic beautiful Park! The falls trail is a MUST SEE, park off the highway and just walk up and back and you'll have a nice time. For a better experience, camp in the campground and explore further up the river. This is a great short hiking option, we took kids and they had a great time!

Beautiful park, great for hiking! The falls are a very short hike and perfect for everyone ☺ The trail continues up after the falls through the forest. You can also head down to Lake Superior as well!

Very scenic hiking along the river and along the lake. Campsites are closer together than many Minnesota State Parks. New and very clean bath house. Lots of wildflowers blooming in late June.
