I went here for two nights with my school for a band camp and we had a great time! The cabins are heated and well taken care of, but there was evidance a squirrel or other small animal might have made a nest inside. The food is amazing, and a lot of it is made right at camp. The bread is especially good. Also, there are options for people with special dietary needs which are not of lesser quality. Tables did have to be set and cleaned by us, but this isn't hard and is a standard at most camps. I went during April and there was quite a bit of mud and some flooding, but the grounds look nice and the beach is a good size. I would guess the trails and property are well maintained when nature doesn't get in the way because even now they weren't bad. The staff are super friendly here and made a great effort to get to know us. They remembered activities we mentioned and asked follow up questions days later, making me feel very well welcomed. During campfire the staff put on a great interactive preformance and never lost their spirit. My only concern is to make sure cabins all have a proper amount of paper towel and are swept before a group comes in. While they are well maintained, a bit of cleaning would be a massive improvement.

My children love coming to Camp Tawingo! It is always the highlight of their summer. They are looking forward to coming back to spend another summer with their friends and counsellors.

IF YOU'RE THINKING OF SENDING YOUR KID TO CAMP I RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILD, YOU WILL NOT PUT THEM THROUGH THIS TORTURE. HERE ARE THE FOLLOWING REASONS 1. The counsellors are arrogant (when I got to this camp, they took our bags and threw them at us) 2. They expect you to clean up your own dishes, wipe down the tables and set all of the tables 3. They do not wash their dishes properly. (I was about to take a sip from my cup and there was left over food sitting at the bottom of my cup and I showed it to the councellor and he said "too bad") 4. They reuse their food. (I saw them take mayonnaise and scrape it back into the jar while it was left out on a table for about 20 minutes and there was a hair in it as well) 5. The councillors didn't take their job seriously 6. They get mad if they give you hard instructions and you don't follow them to the max IF YOU THINK OF SENDING YOUR KIDS HERE. THINK AGAIN! I JUST GOT HOME AND I AM STARTING MY THERAPY SESSIONS TOMORROW.
