Beautiful Place everywhere in the park. Yes, Visit the Fort! For bigger rigs (maybe 35'+), choose the west campground. Many pull-throughs there. The west half of the west campground has paved sites, although our gravel site was perfectly suitable, with our front windshield looking at the lake!!! You must get the homemade waffle cones at the park store. Makes the ice cream twice as good! Off topic, but do take the tour at "Quincy Mine", on the east side of Hancock in the giant silver mine shaft building. Worth it.

Fort Wilkins has to be one of the top State Parks in Michigan. The historical fort, nearby Copper Harbor, Lake Superior, boating, biking and hiking trails. It all adds up to a great place if you are willing to drive this far north! Just be prepared for whatever weather mother nature throws at you.

Very best place in the world. This is the second time we have gone. We will go again. Beautiful area, nice camp hosts. Really crowded over the 4th of July.

Absolutely beautiful. We had a wonderful view of the lake from our campsite. Love that "all the time is quiet time."

A fun, relaxing vacation for the family. Lots of wilderness. We camped on site and saw a reenactment at the fort.
