The manager is a little rough around the edges but he deals with a lot of abusive people who try to take advantage of him due to his age, people abuse the rules, they don't pay, all sorts of mayhem he has to put up with. So if you can look beyond that and understand it, he's a really nice hearted person who is trying to run a safe & controlled campsite in a busy urban area. I like staying there because it's so central to everything in ottowa, you can't beat it in terms of location. Everything everyone else here is saying about the manager is just his rough personality, but they shouldn't judge the campsite based on that.

Horrible place, the manager is ignorant and braindead. This is ONLY a place that you go if you are DESPERATE! Let this be your warning! In the short time we were there, MANY people left disappointed, angry and upset with how they were treated! I am surprised they have remained open for as long as they have! The crazy deranged man will be at your site at 7am waking people up, 11pm waking people up... he will come MANY times throughout the day and night infringing on your privacy and calling you names if you don't agree with his ideals, views and understandings. He makes fun of religions, occupations. He's intrusive and insistent on asking personal questions not related to the campgrounds what so ever! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Camping is supposed to be stress free and relaxing, this place was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE!!!!!

Old park in mixed residential/industrial area. Just not visually appealing. Didn't stay here so can't comment further. It's location does make a good base to explore the city though.

Nothing like as bad as some TripAdvisor reports say... fairly cheap..easy access to downtown Ottawa.

Stayed for 5 weeks because we had no other location to stay .. we were desperate BUT my goodness was this place horrible !!!! The bathrooms were dirty never any soap when I would ask for soap and or if he could clean the bathroom he would say to get my own soap and he would through Bleach in the bathrooms to claim it was cleaned ... just smelled like bleach but he never actually cleaned it. The noise is horrible there is a train that passes through all the time , planes are very loud and constant and and there is a truck site next to the site that at 4 am the trucks are moving the equipment all day .. could not get a decent night of sleep ever Extreme noise pollution . Would not recommend it unless you are absolutely desperate!!!
