Stayed here from 7/6/18-7/8/18 at Site 168 in a 31.5 ft travel trailer. It was the post holiday weekend, so the place was pretty full. There was a bit of a wait to fill up with water, as well as dump out at the end, but the volunteers made sure everything ran smooth. Our site had a nice large tree providing adequate shade throughout the day, but a lot of the sites have minimal or no tree cover. (The Wagon Wheel section located in the rear of the park is almost all shade) Most sites are back in, but the corner sites were typically pull through. The most scenic sites were definitely along the water, being able to watch boats and freighters. The bathrooms were pretty large and clean, and even after an onslaught of fish flies, they swept them up pretty quickly in the morning. The playground consisted of a few swings, a slide and a sandbox. They did have an area that contained horseshoes, volleyball and cornhole boards (Bring your own bags!) in a field just south of the campsites. This park was also nice in that it has a gun and archery range. I believe I saw some trails, as well, but I did not take advantage this trip. And while the infractions didn't bother me, there were handfuls of lots with at least three vehicles parked on them (2 max) and there was a large group of people that were partying loud until at least midnight, so I don't know how much faith I have in the rangers making people follow the rules. All in all it was a nice park and would probably stay here again.

Very good location. Newer showers/restrooms. But for the love of all-that's-holy, do not stay here after a rainy spell. The mosquitoes are f°^¥king ravenous!!! Seriously; like U.P. in June after dark. Especially in the Wagon Wheel (which is a great campground other times).

Always a good time at ASP! Would have given 5 stars, but it's time to update the plumbing and other amenities. The DNR should have more than enough money with the business that park brings in.

Great place to come for a relaxing weekend or longer vacation. Close to the water to watch freighters go by, fires to roast marshmallows or hotdogs and chat with friends and family. Bike riding, walking opportunities. It's just plain nice!

Nice campground with a ton to do. Handgun and shotgun range on site (far away from camping). Several hiking trails and a park for the kids. Freighters go down the channel quite often making the campground unique. Dump station with pottable water on site.
