Had an amazing time at Camp East Park this Victoria Day weekend. Clean facilities, perfect grounds, helpful staff (Vanessa), handy tuck shop. Almost hate to give it a five star as we would like to keep it all to ourselves. :)

Has the basic stuff you need to survive a camping trip on Pelee, they also have some awesome Pelee t-shirts... The Island Unplugged music fest that takes place in August is one of my favritest times here. The campground is a great place for family and friends to say, plus you may meet some new people when your here as it's Pelees way to stop and say Hello. The staff is just amazing here and will help you out be sure to say Mack says Hi!!! There are simple bathrooms and showers plus the East Beach is located right across the road for swimming. When camping here you will get a total feel for nature as it's all around you from the sounds of birds in the day and crickets at night, we also spotted a few friendly camp Cats. If your staying here I would definitely recommend sight #19 say it's secluded from view of other sights and has spots to hang hammocks..

The selection of camp sites is decent, with options that are more enclosed with tree cover and some that are more exposed,, but all providing a well-contained firepit and picnic table. There are also wood/charcoal barbecues and a sheltered pavilion area. Sites are well maintained with short grass and a small trail system through the wooded area surrounding the campground. At night, you will experience true night with true darkness, something that is hard to find as close to cities as Pelee is. The main building provides a basic store, friendly service, and bathrooms (note: not handicap accessible) with shower facilities. The bathrooms and showers are very simple but are fully functional and enough to do what you need for a comfortable stay. You are able to charge your phone at the store if you brought your charger. Phone service is reliable here for the Bell/Virgin network (can't speak for others). There is a payphone on the property as well. Firewood is available on-site for purchase from the store/check-in counter. I cannot stress enough that the staff make you feel very welcome. Vanessa in particular was great about helping us feel at home after our ferry cancellations prompted an unplanned extended stay (+2 nights). Although this is a campground and you are ultimately paying for the privilege to sleep on the ground for the night, it means so much and makes the experience so much better to have a smiling, friendly face making sure your visit goes well. If you're comfortable with camping, this is hands-down the least expensive way to experience the island. Just remember you're in nature, and sometimes nature is not convenient. That's part of the camping experience.

Bathrooms are always clean! Whole campground is clean and camp spots are well separated by trees. The beach is near and the basketball court is cool to do any sports on!
