A hidden untouched gem of Saskatchewan, tucked away in the middle of seemingly nowhere. You will drive through countless farms from any direction that will hypnotize you with bordom until you cross the ridge overlooking Rock Creek campground and see the Saskatchewan badlands. It's an amazing sight. The campground has many small cabins to rent, RV hookups, tenting and even teepees. There are many hikes, though the trails are somewhat none existent due to both few visitors and the parks attempt to keep the grasslands looking untouched. Be cautious with your dog's, there are cacti everywhere. For the experienced hikers backcountry camping is sure to provide privacy and serenity despite the environments incredibly harsh conditions. There are no trees or lakes to seek refuge in so plan for constant harsh sun.

One of my absolute favorite places in Canada. The interpretive staff are so good, and show you how to navigate the park and suggest places to hike to. There are no trails; you navigate by landmarks which is really different and interesting. I always see lots of wildlife, there are badlands, and dinosaur bones as well. Decent washrooms, good drinking water available, tenting and trailer spots available although no showers.

The East Block of Grasslands National Park sits along the United States border in Southern Saskatchewan and offers those adventurous enough a playground of buttes and beautiful skies. The badlands here are a time machine, allowing you to experience a terrain 65 million years in the making. A stroll through the 65-hectare valley can reveal fossilized Triceratops and Hadrosaurs, stunning red-clay hoodoos, tepee rings and indigenous burial sites.

We visited yesterday. The roads, even gravel, are ok., and the scenery will take your breath away. It was a full day but worth every minute and mile. Next time we will spend one night at rock glen And spend a full day at the park.
