Great place for spending couple of nights when on a budget trip. Stayed in a male dormitory for 3 nights. The price was not at all cheap, but Banff during summer weekends is bound to be expensive. The room and bunk beds by themselves were clean and well organized. There were individual bed curtains, bedside shelf and lights available. The washroom was clean too. Though I couldn't meet all of my dormitory mates, they were chill and I spent my time without any noise or disturbances. However, the room was extremely hot with poor ventilation. The wall mounted fan made quite a noise when switched on. The first night someone had switched off the fan in the middle of the night, I somehow survived getting roasted alive. I am not exaggerating, it was very hot in the room. However, next two nights we kept the fan running and everything was fine. The breakfast is free, but don't expect a proper breakfast. It just cereals, milk, bread, cakes, coffee lined up in the kitchen and one has to take whatever they want by themselves. Not bad, but I preferred McDonald's for two out of the three mornings. Summarizing, I would totally recommended this place for budget stay, it's ideal place save for the few issues I have mentioned above.

Stayed for just a night because I arrived too late in the day to start backpacking, everything went smoothly and without any issues. The breakfast is actually just access to a kitchen with some basic supplies like toast and cereal, had that been advertised more clearly I would've purchased dinner at the grocery and cooked here instead as well to save some money. Great place!

Great hostel. People here are nice. They give great advice about where to travel, and they provide many services. They can help booking tours or help you out with the bus or other things you need. Rooms are cleaned daily. Even though the personal space is small in lower bed, there are some public space.

The worst Hostel ever, expensive and horrible serving. Stayed there one week and had the worst experience in hostel ever. Got a room in second flour of a room which means I had to go inside room and take the stairs to upper part of the same room kind of like attic eventhough I asked them I need a bed at the bottom . few times I hit my head to the ceiling and once fire alarm . The breakfast was awful. No cheese just sweet stuff marmalade, jam, honey, maple syrup. milk for coffee or for corn flex and so was powdered milk mixed with water. Fruits cut so small that container was juicy and watery you didn't feel like eating it. Orange juice container was not holding orange juice. It was kind of very cheap stuff they mixed with water and leave there for you to drink as a orange juice. many throw it out as soon as they tasted it. dish washer detergent was mixed with water and in spray kind of container so would not use a lot . you had to spray and spray on which was of course not enough to clean so you had to spray more and more until you get something. You pay so expensive for some cheap cheap treatment. I mistakenly end up here instead of HI which I always go to and always happy about it. I guess they kind choose this name so many people make mistake like I did. I was so disappointed and I will never go to this company. I do not suggest this hostel to any one.

Great hostel, stayed there for three weeks while looking for a job and a place to stay. I had to extend my stay two times and they had no problems accommodating. Rooms are spacious and clean. Free breakfast is pretty good and kitchen has everything you need. I made a lot of good friends and met a lot of people in this hostel. Plus there is a liquor store in it which is awesome. If you are hesitating about what hostel you want to stay in while in Banff, I would definitely recommend this one.
