We stayed at the Sandman in Calgary when we were dealing with very difficult circumstances at the nearby hospital. After phoning around to many hotels and being given exorbitant "compassion rates" (the prices were hiked up because of a conference in town) we called the Sandman and they gave us a compassion rate that was a fraction of the cost. They also changed our reservations for no charge when we ended up having to stay at the hospital one night. If that weren't enough they upgraded us to a king suite at no extra cost. The rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was extremely friendly. We are very grateful for the excellent service.

Really nice rooms, updated. Had a slight error with our room (bed wasn't made) but the front desk person was quick to upgrade us to a loft suite instead. Nice mattress, lots of pillows, a reasonable living area with kitchen sink, microwave and fridge. Two TVs, onedownstairs and one upstairs in front of the bed. Huge window and drapes make use of the loft ceiling height. No free breakfast but there was a coffee/tea cart in the lobby when we checked out. Spacious, nicely done bathroom.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Staff are friendly helpful and cheerful. Unfortunately there is no complimentary breakfast but Denny's is just next door. Room is quite clean and the size is good. If we come to Calgary again, will certainly consider this hotel.

Location is great, far enough away from the highway so noise isn't an issue. Rooms are nice, a bit odd of a layout with the bathroom being between the living room and the bed. There is an extra 7% tax for other stuff like marketing fee and tourism levy they don't tell you about beforehand though pretty sure that's now standard for all hotels. Next door is a McDonalds, a liquor store, a subway, a gas station, etc.

Courteous staff, they were undergoing construction but ensured they were quiet during sleeping hours. Very nice interior. Would stay again
