Not much value for money at this place. First room we were offered had no bathtub, only a shower. They did not tell us this beforehand. Heat control box dangled by a few wires from the wall. We went back to front desk. Second room was better, had a tub, no fixtures dangling. For the money, it's cheaply furnished. The entire place looks tired. Worn. Carpets throughout this hotel looked to me as if they need to be replaced. Our room had 2 doors, good for fire safety, however the door lock to the outside door was loose and the jamb was cracked. They had painted over the damage, but it was there.
The restaurant takes the cake however. I've eaten in Indian places in Vancouver that weren't as expensive as this. Rice and naan cost 2.50 each extra here, when ordered alongside a 15 dollar entré? Give me a break. Give. Me. A. Break.
Edited to add: 0730 Pacific time, room telephone rang twice waking us. Moments later roofing crew began smashing up shingles overhead, throwing them into dumpster deposited directly in front of our outside door.
The breakfast was decent enough, but it was served in the restaurant associated with this hotel. The smell of grease well past due date hung in the air. It was quite strong. Pungent.
When we mentioned all of this to the desk clerk on checking out we received a $10 discount.
