"Computer was down" when we were checking out, can't print receipt or anything. After 5 minutes said receipt was just sent to me by email. 8 days passed no email, no receipt. Checked my credit card, they charged and sure enough what I was afraid of, they charged $186, $25 more than what I was told ($161 for one night). Be careful with these crook hotel managers. They would trick you for some amount that you won't bother going after for because they know you live 2 hours drive away! I feel robbed!

Staff very unfriendly and unaccomodating. They stated upon check in the pet policy is $25/ pet. They proceeded to call our room the next day to tell us we had a pending charge to our account, and that the pet policy was $25/pet/night. It’s not the charge that upset me it’s the way they handled the situation. They had no interest in hearing me out that they stated it wrong in the first place. They also had no interest in ensuring I left happy with their business again. Will not be staying here again. Poor customer service.

The lodge is clean. WiFi works great. Staff was easy to approach. Breakfast had great variety. I'd choose the place again.

On April 22nd, my daughter received the confirmation for booking a room at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites in Drumheller Alberta for the night of Friday July 6th. She is always very careful to inform the hotel that I am physically challenged. On the confirmation e-mail is a photo of the Econo Lodge, so the morning of April 23rd I phoned to find out what room we were booked into. He said something like 227. I asked if that was on the second floor and if they have an elevator. I was told it is on the second floor and no they do not have an elevator. I explained I cannot do stairs at all and I use a walker, so he moved us to room #124. I wrote that down on the confirmation pages I had printed off. I took those papers with us. When we booked in between 10 – 10:30pm July 6th, the Manager was on duty. He handed us the key to the 2nd floor room. We explained to him we had changed rooms to #124. He had no record of that and was fully booked. My daughter asked him to contact another hotel and guarantee his price there. He called Quality Inn and found they had a room. However they would not match his price. The only reason they had a room was because they had had a cancellation. It was the fault of Econo Lodge that we almost had no place to stay and that we had to pay $40+ more for that night. He offered no compensation so his “sorry” was not very well received. I feel he should have given us $40 from his own pocket to pay the extra at the Quality Inn.
