It's a dump

Feb 13, 2018
I had the only nice room that perhap's was a 3 star.People were friendly, but Big Mouse Infestation.Rooms on the upper floor had leaking roofs. The place was alway's full nevertheless, catering to hunters and tree planters.

On Sept 7 th. I checked in , single mature female. The place had questionable characters around. I could hear car doors closing steady and I was worried about safety of items in my car. The room smelled poorly of campfire smoke. I know fire went thru there but many other places didnt smell. I asked for half of my money back as i couldnt stay there. The same as I would not sleep in a smoking room especially if i wasnt consulted first..The owner was unreasonable and not understsnding that I had asthma. I was desperate for a place to sleep..But not this desperate. He found it in his heart to return 10 whole dollars to me. I didnt stay in the room..didnt even open the bed covers, drove an hour in smoky conditions to get to my cousins. Nice rip off for the rest. No thanks to him..not recommrnded

It was barely worth the cost

I've stayed at this place on two occasions. The owner is a friendly chap and went out of his way to ensure that I had what I needed for an extended stay. For instance, he brought a very long extension cord so I could work at the table. He also replaced the coffee maker as soon as I told him it was broken. I've been almost everywhere in BC and this is by far the best value I've seen so far. Even considering buying a motel here. Now that the roses have been sent, there are a few bricks. First of all, there is a constant leak in the roof causing water to accumulate on the bathroom floor. There is black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The second element of the stove is not working. The towels and bedding have not been changed in the last ten days I've been here. I've been here twice now and it's comfortable. The heat works and is consistent. I've been to one place where the heat did not work at all! I would not call this the Ritz Carleton, but as mentioned, it's not expensive to stay here. One person told me that the owner will wait to get paid if that is what is required for long term stay. Overall, I'd rate this a 3 star motel at best. But if you need a place to stay for a week or even two, it's ok.
