We enjoyed our stay at Patricia Hotel. There is now a free continental breakfast at Pat's Bar on site in the mornings. We love how close gastown is and many great restaurants. There are a lot of homeless people around on Hastings, but if you go up a block and walk that street, it's totally fine. Parking is $10 a day and is completely safe, we did take absolutely everything g out of a car though. Parked for 4 nights, no problems. The rooms are small, but the bed is clean and comfortable. There is no mini fridge in the room, wouldn't be space for it. No bathtub either, just a shower, toilet and sink. TV has cable, but it's pretty fuzzy.

Only stayed here because there were no other hotels available for under $800/night. Room was Clean, and at least the room had a fan, but no ac and no screens on the window... but at least the curtains blocked out the light. One key only. Hotel does not smell great and customer service was incredibly slow during check in. I’ve paid less for more -our rate was 159/night plus parking but it was peak season in July. This is in a sketchy part of town across the street from a homeless tent area, but we were never bothered by anyone on the street at all and everyone in the hotel that we met seemed like decent people.

It seems to me this is in a very bad part of town. I would be afraid to walk alone anytime of the day or night. Drug addict's shooting up in plain site of everyone. To enter we had to step around the homeless people sleeping on the street. I was shown a room and it wasn't what I expected. Not just old but in need of a overhaul too. Wonderful staff very helpful. I guess I would say that the hotel itself was OK but the location and surrounding area and people were to much. We were fearful for our safety. But the staff was kind and helpful.

Location is awesome easy to get every where however you cant have a weak stomach. Its is east hastings. You will see drug use...passed out homeless people...tents.. the staff is great. Restaurant downstairs great. The rooms are small but you get what you pay for... great place to rest your head on a budget.

It's perfect for REAL explorers or adventurers who love traveling and can care less to spend a ton on a room to lay their head. I doubt there are bed bugs since the beds have mattress and box spring covers. And just remember that there are hostel-like rooms and the deluxe rooms are more like hotel rooms we're all accustomed to. It's been a great stay!
