New luxury Marriott-branded hotel next to the Sky Train for easy access to downtown Vancouver and many other tourist areas. The concierge, front desk team, restaurant staff all eager to please and help ensure a memorable experience. The hotel is beautiful with large rooms, beautiful views. The food is good and open until late. Direct your travel questions to Norm, who seems to know a lot about the city and places to go. They are working out the "newness" kinks and waiting on some areas such as workout areas and pool to yet open.

We loved staying at the Civic! It was in a great location, with easy access to the SkyTrain and lots of places around it. We had had a really stressful day of traveling, and as soon as we got there, Michelle at the check in desk immediately showed excellent service and was so cute and personable, that all the stress of the day went away. She then recognized us several times later that evening and she just really provided exceptional service. All around really great! We highly recommend it.

Great brand new hotel. Nice and clean. Convenient location. There are still some things for them to learn so I gave four stars. For ex. I'm a top tier member with Marriott so room should've been upgraded but it didn't happen. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Very good start. Hope it can be changed to five in the future if I get a chance to stay there again.

I would have liked to rate this hotel more as the staff is really nice but it’s a classic case where the hotel is not yet ready and they launched it. I have had 3-4 stays here. The fitness centre is not ready, the air conditioner was down (and they don’t tell you that when you check in). The shuttle to the Sky train is not operational. There is lot of construction going around and you can’t bear the noise after 8.30 am. You might wonder why I still stayed at the place? It was very close to my work and the Sheraton Guildford was on strike. This place is a perfect case of what matters most to you - customer experience or service. I would prefer the former - while the hotel staff is super responsive, they can’t do much with a hotel that is not ready yet!
