Great historic hotel. The food served in the dining room is outstanding. The serving staff are friendly and nonplussed when serving large parties Owners are knowledgeable about the locale and helpful in pointing out local areas to enjoy the outdoors. We shall return.

First time going to a B&B. Lovely older building. Excellent Dinner. Pleasant staff in the office and the dining room. The room we had was small, but there are different sizes. Our mattress wasn't very supportive. After seeing other available hotels/motels on our drive. This is the best option and I am happy we chose it.

We spent the night at the Prospect Historic Hotel this weekend. The folks that work there are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the motel section (there were six of us). Our room was “dated” but clean and well appointed. My wife and I want to stay in the B&B section next time (we peeked in a room with their permission, and it was very nice). They had drink service on their beautiful porch before supper. As for supper, my wife and father in law had the lasagna and loved it. The mother in law and I had their prime rib. The prime rib was delicious and lived up to the hype. Kids were finicky as usual. Bonus points for the horseshoes. We will definitely go back.

We were leaving crater lake and planing to get to Medford. We stopped in prospect just to get gas. driving pass the front entrance of the hotel really got our attention. Out of coincidence we found this lovely historic place, and decided to spend the night here! It was the best decision!! The food was great (homemade-yummy) the people were super friendly, and the room was cozy. Plus you get to learn the history of this place..pretty interesting & amazing. Would come back & def. recommend.

The Prospect Historic Hotel is a great choice for travelers visiting Crater Lake and the surrounding park. Situated about a 40 min from the lake it is very much an oasis in a remote area that boasts many excellent facilities for camping and enjoying the great outdoors etc. but very few for those looking for a comfortable bed and a decent meal. The main hotel has a lovely Victorian feel to it and the bedrooms are pretty and furnished in the same manner and period. The motel rooms at the back are cheaper but nevertheless are clean, functional and what you would expect from a decent motel. For convenience with the car we chose a motel room (No1), and though as stated it was functional and clean it was beneath the trees and caught little sun so was quite gloomy inside with a slightly cold feel to it. That said we spent little time in it and in fact was a blessing in disguise as it encouraged us to use the hotel's porch/veranda - possibly its best feature. We sat for quite a few hours here enjoying the warm evenings, having drinks and chatting to other guests - really delightful. We ate in the restaurant one of the evenings and, though the menu is understandably quite restricted the food was very good. There are few alternative options to eat out nearby and therefor I would have liked to have seen a better choice on the breakfast menu which consisted of one rotating daily dish. Because of this we chose to breakfast at the very good Beckie's Cafe Union Creek; about 15 mins away on the road to Crater Lake. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and helpful. Kudos particularly to our waitress/bartender (can't remember your name but you were excellent thanks!) who was very friendly and professional. Lots of natural beauty to see nearby, particularly along the Rogue River, and its a perfect spot for those who enjoy the outdoors and a bit of walking and relaxation. We nearly decided not to visit the area because of the fires and the visibility at the lake had been very poor for weeks, but we took a chance and are extremely glad we did and very much enjoyed our stay in Prospect.
