We booked directly with the motel about two months before arrival. About 3 weeks before arrival we modified our reservation by one day and were told we could longer receive the same discount. When we arrived we found the place run down and shabby. We decided to stay only one night and move on. When we checked in we found the motel had charged our VISA in full 7 days before we arrived. The front counter lady said we had for pay two nights and she would refund the difference as that was there policy. I then read there policy on their website and saw it was one day penalty for cancelling (which I expected and is industry standard in my experience) I had to argue with her and insist on a refund, and was not happy that my card had been charged in full already. I told her my card should have been used as a hold, not charged 7 day before I got there...and how did she do that without my permission or PIN? Once a pressed the uestions she agreed to refund us and we left that night, loosing 300! 300 a night for this shady dive is a rip off and I suggest you drive by (there was apparently an event in town and they had hiked their prices). We stayed down the road at a new hotel with a pool and slide that had just open and thanked god they had room - and paid 180 a night.

Excellent management! Nice & friendly stuff. Comfy beds, great location, good facilities, economical rates and excellent views of sea. New management since October 2017, $6 value breakfast, pay shuttle and only studio and family suites have kitchens.

Heading up to watch the BC Summer Games...... last minute. Wow they charged ?????? GOUGHED the room was ok the amenities were terrible. Hot water faucet did not work and one of the two available electrical outlets did not work also. I had planned on staying there for 3 days. We arrived late and in the morning after some serious soul searching came to the realization that it is better to stay in Victoria and drive up every morning than to endure the disappointment of waking up in this room for two more days. If there were no deficicencies l would have sucked it up and bit the bullet. The insult to injury was the lack of respect to their guests. They understood the deficicencies and refunded in full the 2 additional nites that l had booked for and l drove away

Warm welcome. Soft mattress. Warm electric baseboard heating. Crisp sheets and towels. Nice view of the bay. Medium pricing for the area.

Excellent location close to all amenities, restaurants and reasonable priced. Had everything we needed and the host was very helpful, friendly and addressed our needs. We stayed for 3 nights. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. We were over visiting family and would definitely stay here again. Also an excellent motel to use as a base if you are exploring Nanaimo, Victoria and nearby places.
