Good location downtown. Close to water, nice stroll. Playground and other amenities nearby. Commercial St has lots of good eats and bakeries. Gym is a little lack luster as they moved it from the lobby to in the basement where it's a little stifled for air flow.

Really Beautiful hotel! Went to check in at 4pm and the room wasn't ready for another hour...we went and waited in the bar for an hour. Good service in the bar, seasoned bartenders knew all of the regulars and service was good! Hotel room was great once we got in! Beautiful view!

The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. Bed was coming. Harbour view was beautiful. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because an elevator wasn't functioning and wait times to get up/down were very long.

Assigning a star rating here is difficult because there are different factors that deserve one star, and some that deserve five. The cost for the experience is what pushed it down to two instead of three. The biggest issue here was the poor maintenance that led to poor service from this hotel all the way to the top. Our smoke detector started chirping just before midnight after we were in bed and just had fallen asleep. These things happen, though it means they either aren't replacing batteries when they should or they aren't replacing the detectors themselves when they should, which goes to the general maintenance issues I noticed around the room. The real problem was how they handled this. I called the front desk, and they sent someone up. He told me it just needed to be tested and pushed the test button. I told him that wasn't going to solve the problem, just delay it a few minutes. He said I was wrong, but told me he could "put in a service request if it didn't take care of the issue." I don't know if that meant it would be the next day that it was fixed or not, but it didn't sound good especially when I knew it wasn't solved. So five minutes later when it started up again, I called the front desk again. He laughed and sent someone else up. He replaced it with a detector from the next room, and the issue was resolved. All in all, it wasn't the end of the world, but no real apology or anything. When I mentioned it at check out in the morning, she said she would say something to the manager, which led to nothing. The only thing I got was a form letter from the manager as a result of the survey I took. It just left me with a bad taste about this place. All this would generally only bring a hotel with a wonderful location and wonderful views down to three stars, but then I remembered that the shower was awful, and I paid a lot for that great view. And I almost didn't book in the first place because their system requires me to choose "Mr., Miss, Mrs., or Dr." Again, not a big deal, but why do we need to gender our guests? So, two stars it gets, and a general feeling of distaste for this chain of hotels.

Staff was really helpful. The parking is ridiculous but someone walked me to a shortcut... next time I’ll know it’s public parking (quite the walk... drop your bags, register THEN park). Room was clean (really clean), nice view, no pool.. :/
