Beautiful garden in Cowichen Bay!

May 28, 2017
This bed and breakfast (Seasons Above the Bay) is in a prime location to explore Cowichan Bay. The neighborhood is quiet and it’s only a 7 min walk to all the great shops and restaurants in the bay. Breakfast was three courses and included fresh baked mini muffins, a homemade yogurt parfait with homemade granola and eggs benedict with home fries. It was all delicious and far more than I could possibly eat. On top of all that we had all the coffee, tea and juice we could possibly want. Our hosts Bev and Jim were great and we engaged in interesting conversation about the area and things to do. Check in and check out were a breeze and while Bev and James answered any questions we had and engaged in conversation, they were also careful to give us our space as well. The Room we stayed in was the ‘memories of Paris’ room. The room was clean and stocked with everything a traveller needs, private entrance, fridge, microwave, water bottles, tv, Netflix, music docking station, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc, etc. The king sized bed and pillows are better than anything you will get at a 5 star hotel. Quite simply, this bed and breakfast is the best accommodation and location that you could possibly hope for in the area. If you count the savings you’ll realize with the gourmet breakfast and area expertise of Bev and Jim, it’s quite frankly a great bargain as well. We will definitely be back!

The Seasons Above the Bay Guest Suites and B & B is located perfectly above the busy activities of the waterfront. It is set on a quiet street only a short walk to all the interesting shops of the Cowichan Bay seaside village. We stayed in the Ocean Dreams suite which was private and perfectly decorated to enhance the feeling of being swept away to another world. All the details of comfort were carefully executed, from the ambient lighting to the cozy bed. Everything was very clean and fresh. We had a delicious and substantial breakfast with charming fun-loving hosts Jim & Bev, who pointed us to the many interesting features of the Cowichan Bay area. We will definitely make a point at staying there again!

I loved my stay at Seasons Above the Bay. Jim and Bev, the owners, are wonderful people. The rooms offered elegance and comfort . In the morning we opened the door and heard the call of the Sea Lions. We wandered to the pier (a 10 minute walk) and watched fascinated as the harem talked back and forth. To top it all we were graced with two swans swimming to the dock to greet us. The village was fun to poke around in.

What an awesome experience! Bev & Jim Oliver, were friendly, genuine hosts who took great pride in providing the optimal experience for their guests. From helping bring in our bags, and inviting us up for a lovely, light wine, to offering us a wealth of information about the best hiking trails, kayaking ventures, wine tasting tours, and dining experiences, they certainly had our best interests at heart. We were blown away with the beautifully, lavishly decorated, classy suite. The sofa and armchairs were perfect for cozying up in. The cute, modern kitchen even included bar stools, a storage wine cooler, and provided us with great coffees. The large king-size bed had soft, lush bedding that provided us with a deep and restful sleep. And the breakfast was to die for - a decadent layered yogurt, granola, fresh fruit dish followed by muffins and then bacon wrapped around an egg that was baked in the oven. Definitely a 5 out of 5 rating for the delicious food, extremely clean, luxurious accommodations, and hosts that treated you like royalty ! You start as guests and end up as friends! Thanks so much, Bev & Jim, for a fantastic get-away and adventure! We'll be back!
