Okay it is not posh. If you are looking for the Fairmont experience this ain't it. We loved it. It was very quiet, just the sounds of boats, sea birds and sea. It's the perfect place for people who love natural beauty. There is access to the beaches to walk at low tide. There is an exceptionally well-provisioned wine and beer store on the bottom floor. Our room was clean and comfy. I would have given it five stars if the dining room had been open. We were making plans to come back even as we left.

I really wanted to give this place a great review, staff was amazing, rooms seemed clean, and the view was gorgeous. But.. I stayed 4 nights and got bed bugs. Second night I kept thinking it was spiders but there is no way that spiders bit all over my body. Would not recommend.

Good value with a great view, and very good restaurant. A bit dated but still comfortable and quiet. I would stay again while passing through Powell River, enjoyed the ocean views from the deck.

Simply awful and unsafe for smaller kids. Booked here last minute. Staff apologized when we called because we were being booked into the older section of the hotel. Room had 8 cords plugged into one outlet. Deck had paint chips peeling that could cut my toddlers feet, rails were not to code and my toddler could slip through. We worried about her being strangled. Smoke detector was ancient. The sheets were pilling and the bed was rock hard. The lino bath tiles were bubbling off the walls from water damage. There is so much wrong here. Maybe the “newer” section is better.

The Seasider Restaurant was the highlight of our stay at Beach Gardens Resort in Powell River. The food, service and ambience was fabulous. Our room was clean and spacious. The over all feel was a bit run down. The phone was out of service and we paid $10/day extra for a frig and microwave in our room, which is normally included in the price of rooms, not extra. No luggage racks and due to bad backs we grabbed deck chairs to hold our bags off the floor. The laundry facility on site was nice. Basics. Not a "resort " feel, but okay.
