This place is called golden village lodge now. We booked through expedia. Room was clean and comfortable. Recently remodeled with lots of wood paneling. Bed was rather high. May be difficult for those with mobility issues. Service was warm and friendly.

It's not really Howard Johnson hotel. It's called golden village hotel now. The guy who help me with check in was grumpy not even even with a smile. I know he may worked for long hours but its the first impression which gives you when you enter the hotel. Rooms were clean. Sheets were not changed. I found hair on the sheets when I entered the room. Towels were not clean, they were with black streaks on them.

A mouse ran across my pillow. Staff was not apologetic or helpful. Hot tub was gross. Do not stay here

Great place to stay in Golden. The room was clean and the staff here were very friendly and extremely helpful. Gave good recommendations on where to go for food and things in town. As well, we forgot an important item in our room and the hotel manager had no problem finding it and shipping it back to us right away. Definitely will be returning here whenever we come through Golden.
