Overall this was a good stay. The staff was incredibly kind and all of the cleaning staff always greeted me and wished me a good day which was really pleasant. Check-in was a breeze and we got to check-in early which was really awesome. We usually stay on Granville street so it was a nice change of scenery. The hotel is over a cool little arcade bar and right beside a Coras restaurant, but there are many better places to eat in Vancouver. Anyone who has trouble with stairs... DON'T STAY HERE. There is absolutely no wheelchair access or ramp. The first thing that greets you is the steps which is slightly awkward with a large suitcase. It didn't look like there was an elevator, but luckily our room was on the main floor. As a person with a crappy back I found the bed was low quality. Bathroom was small, but includes a bathtub. They started cleaning the rooms too early in the morning and woke us up several times. Some might find the arcade bar noisy.

The hotel is in a good location in Vancouver close to the shops and lots of restaurants. The rooms are not that great. They are clean but quite quaint. There is no elevator so you will have to drag your suite case up some stairs.

It was tiny but clean, looks like they got the bedbug issue resolved. Priced appropriately. Definitely a no frills situation. If i didn't have my man to help me carry my suitcase up to the top floor it may have taken me a few hours on my own as there is no elevator, nor is it in any way handicapped accessible. And watch the entrance in the rain it is slippery AF. Would stay again when on a budget! Wish they hadn't covered up so much of the beautiful old wood though but it is clean.

The rooms are small and dated but the beds were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and the common areas have been renovated. 3 floors but no lift. There is a Cora's breakfast place next door where you can get an early bird breakfast 7am to 8 am for half the price!! Staff are friendly and helpful. Location and price are hard to beat if you are on a budget.

The Barclay has old world charm. It could use a little sprucing up. There were several lights out in the hallways. The linens are somewhat threadworn. The room was comfortable. What made the stay though was the location and price. The hotel is smack dab in the center of downtown Vancouver and ready for this...It was $69 bucks including tax! For me all I needed was a place to sleep so it was a great bargain for its location. For that reason I would recommend it.
