We only visited the restaurant, but what a negative experience! The wait staff was trying hard but was short of the tools required. We were in town for the car show. We went to have lunch but found they do not open until 1pm. We had eaten lunch elsewhere by then! We later visited again for dinner but were advised to hurry up and order as the 'kitchen' closed at 9pm. Really??? Only open for afternoon snacks and early dinner? This is a vacation town where people come to relax and enjoy themselves. A late brunch around 10 or 11am, and then dinner at 8 or 9pm as a wind up to the day makes sense to cater to. No wonder the place was empty and they cannot attract top notch servers - there are not enough customers to pay them! Management, take note. You have fumbled this badly. It is time that you build a real kitchen. We were very concerned about our dinner being cooked poolside. To have a resort like this that only has a makeshift kitchen on an outside patio is unforgivable. Build a kitchen, hire a chef, make the place attractive for people to come for lunch dinner and relaxation. You will be able to hire good servers and you may even be successful. Right now your restaurant gets two thumbs down from me. All on management, not on the people who tried very hard to make it work. Your employees are trying hard, you don't give them the tools with which to succeed.

Very sad! We are currently staying at the resort. Just checked in. Was told there was a washer dryer when I booked so now we are disappointed our room doesn't have one....along with the extremely huge child crowd at the pool and noise of exit entry area right below our deck and of course nowhere to escape the outside noise. Lake view is a must...but pool is between us and the quiet lake view. Beach is also closed due to flooding.... (ugh). Help....I just want a Nice Honeymoon and This is not working! 😔😢

No oven in the kitchenette, no breakfast on site. Pool is too small with that many guests. Lots of kids in the pool and adult hot tub. Nice beach and marina. Our room was right next to the hotels AC unit. No balcony, unless you want to pay extra. Maid service was terrible, although they did was restock our coffee when we Asked for them to come in. Restaurant was okay, drinks too over priced and same with the food. It’s tolerable though & convineant. Overall too pricey for what you get, go somewhere else. Also it’s by its self not as close to restaurants as other resorts.

Very Frustrated about the service we have received at this resort, upon booking we were told that we will have a room with the lake view, and we paid extra to make sure we’re getting a room with lake view, however when we’ve checked in we have noticed that our room doesn’t have the lake view, the only thing we see out of our balcony is the mountain and it’s obviously Mountain view!!! When we discussed the problem with front desk staff, they’ve simply just said that they are sorry, they can’t do anything, also they have mentioned that all of their rooms are considered as lake view, and it doesn’t matter if its the first floor, second floor or the third floor, I feel like we have been scammed to be charged extra for a feature that couldn’t be accommodated!! Please watch out when you book for your vacation, the services they offer online is not true. I drove 450 kilometres to spent my vacation here and the service we have received is absolutely terrible.

Amazing Resort! Our family (including 2 young children) stayed at Walnut Beach in early June 2018. What a wonderful experience! We were looking to replicate the experience of a Hawaiian resort, and we found it! We stayed in a one-bedroom lake view room, which was large, very clean, had a well-stocked kitchen, was very comfortable, and was impressively quiet. Even when there were numerous people in the outdoor pool area (which the room looked onto), the noise was minimal while on the balcony, and if we were inside the suite with the door closed, we couldn't hear any noise at all. The beach looked nice (although we didn't use it due to some recent lake flooding which didn't seem to impact the resort in any other way). The pool was very warm, and the hot tubs, steam room and sauna were all nice touches. We only ate at the restaurant at the hotel one night, but the restaurant patio overlooking the pool and the lake was charming, and the poolside drink service (come around and offer drinks to pool patrons) was also a benefit. Overall, this had the feel of a real resort rather than just a hotel. All of the staff were amazing - friendly and helpful, and we weren't left feeling as though anything was missing. When we stayed, the restaurant and poolside service was only open afternoons and evenings on weekends, and evenings only on weekdays, although I believe it is open all afternoons and weekends for the peak summer months. You can't get breakfast there - or lunch on certain days - but due to the well-equipped kitchen, we simply stocked up with some groceries and didn't mind at all. Making a couple of our own meals was certainly cheaper than eating out three meals a day. The resort is located in a nice quiet location away from downtown Osoyoos, but it is only a 5 minute drive to town if needed. The Walnut Beach Resort is well thought out, and suitable for both couples and families (both were there when we stayed). We felt relaxed and rejuvenated from our stay, and we will return. Thanks Walnut Beach!
